The wife of the Majority Leader, Benue State House of Assembly, Chief Mrs Iveren Adanyi yesterday visited the internally displaced persons (IPDs) by the Fulani herdsmen in Daudu camp,
Guma LG to sympathize with them. Mrs Adanyi shared some relief materials and cooked foods with the IDPs and prayed God to give them the hearts to bear their present predicament.
Mrs. Adanyi who was accompanied by the Deputy chairman of Makurdi LG, Hon. Lynn Gon encouraged the IPDs not to think God has abandoned them, but to put their trust in God. In her words, “God will fight for us, some persons might think they are stronger than us, but I can assure you, God will fight for us, He is greater than everybody and our help will come from Him. I have brought foods here to eat with you, it is not enough for you at this time but it is just to show that my family and I are with you in your present condition”.
Some of the relief materials presented to the IDPs by Mrs. Adanyi included, one bail of clothes, pairs of wrappers, parks of vaseline, a bag of gari, bag of sugar, 500 rolls of detergent. In appreciation, the camp chairman, MrFrancis Shiga prayed God to bless Mrs Adanyi for the love shown them and pray God to continue to bless her and her family.
As at the time of visit, over 1000 victims mostly children aging from less than a year to 12 years were already staying in the Daudu camp.
